Dear Colleagues and Friends of Salt Creek School District 48:

Whenever there is the possibility of closing school for weather or other reasons, we want to remind everyone about our school closing procedures.

District 48 is always alert to the weather conditions related to safety of our students. If bad winter weather is predicted that would impact safety, especially related to travel of our students and staff, we follow it very closely. If it is necessary to call off school, we use our automated phone calling system (School Messenger) to make those calls to families and staff as soon as that decision is made. These decisions are typically made by 5:30 a.m., and the calls are placed immediately after that. We also place the information on the automated television and radio announcement services, put the information on our website, and implement phone tree systems for staff in our schools.

Please make sure that the school office has the latest and best phone number to contact you should it be necessary to call off school. Thank you.

Thanks very much.
