Salt Creek School District 48 will be on summer break from Friday June 3 though August 21 for students. Teachers return on August 18 and students on August 22. School offices and the District office are open throughout the summer, but due to staff taking vacation time in the summer, if you need to take care of specific business, please call the direct office you need ahead of time to make sure someone is there to help you. Thank you, and have a great summer break!
Salt Creek School District 48 will be doing a number of repair projects at our schools this summer. In all cases, these projects are designed to repair flaws that have developed over time in our aging school buildings. As you pass by, examples of the type of work that you may see going on at our schools are: masonry cleaning and repair work, tuck pointing of the brickwork, gutters being replaced, repairs to paving, replacement of windows, structural steel repair, and installation of expansion joints. In some cases, our buildings date back to President Eisenhower, and they are badly in need of repairs. Other repairs will be needed in the future.
We set a goal for students to read 180,000 pages in 180 days and they have surpassed that goal and haven't stopped! I'm beaming with pride!
District #48 Registration Packets for the 2016-2017 school year were mailed out Friday, March 18, 2016. Please watch for this paperwork to arrive. All forms must be filled out in their entirety (front and back) and fees must be paid by April 29th in order to complete the registration process.
Students have been doing an incredible job reading and bringing their reading cards to the office. I am so proud of them! I can't wait to see how many pages they will read after our all school Read In on March 16th!
Swartz students are absolutely amazing! We set a goal of 180,000 pages and they met it! They are still reading like crazy too! This was our first year counting pages instead of books and we love it! Students are so motivated and continue to come to the office to turn in their cards and get special charms. I will keep you posted on their progress! Check out Miss 180,000's picture!
The wonderful students at Swartz are working hard to achieve their goal of reading 180,000 pages! Mr. 120,000 Pages made in down to the office on Friday and we moved to another country on the map! I am so proud of our students!
