Cleaning and disinfecting procedures:

-First shift custodians start at 6:30 AM and inspect all the areas mentioned above to make sure the buildings are cleaned and ready for the first shift of students.

-Once school starts our custodial crew will do their first-round cleaning and disinfecting all the areas listed above, if a classroom or office is in use they will wait until that area is cleared.

-Our cleaning crew will repeat this procedure every hour until the first shift of classes ends.

-When the first shift of students leaves the building, our custodial crew will do a deep cleaning and disinfecting of all the areas listed to have them ready for the second shift of students.

-Once the second shift for students start our custodial crew will repeat the same cleaning and disinfecting procedures every hour until the second shift of students is over.

-When the second shift of students leave our custodial crew will do another round of disinfecting all the areas and will start the deep cleaning and disinfecting of each classroom and continue until our second shift custodians arrive.

-Our second shift custodians start at 10:00 AM and will continue with the deep cleaning and disinfecting of all the areas listed above.

-This cleaning and disinfecting procedures will be applied at all three schools, same for the first shift custodians and the second shift custodians.

Deep Cleaning and Disinfecting:

-Deep Cleaning removes dirt and most germs and is usually done with soap and water and our approved chemicals. Some of our approved chemicals for cleaning are: STRIDE all-purpose cleaner, GLANCE all glass and plastic cleaner, CREW non-acid toilet bowl cleaner, ALPHA all surface cleaner and stain remover. All our chemicals are Green Certified.

-Disinfecting kills germs, depending on the type of chemical, and only when the chemical product is used as directed. Our number one disinfecting chemical is Oxivir Tb and we can use it in a spray bottle or in a bucket. When used in a bottle first we spray the surface with the chemical. We let it sit for a minute or two and then wipe it down with a clean rag. At other times, depending on the surface, we spray the rag first and then wipe the surface. When used in a bucket we soak the clean rag in the bucket with the chemical and then clean and disinfect the surface with it.

-First shift custodians do some deep cleaning but concentrate on disinfecting surfaces while buildings are occupied with students and employees. Second shift custodians disinfect surfaces as well, however, their main task is following deep cleaning procedures.

All custodians have been trained on every topic to assure we can provide a safe place for students and staff and we can always make adjustments to accommodate all of your needs.
