District 48 FTC and PIE Host Free Leadership Training Workshop for All Students on Saturday January 30, 2016
On Saturday January 30, 2016 from 8:00 am to noon at Albright Middle School, all Salt Creek School District 48 students K-8 are invited to participate in an exciting first of its kind, and free, leadership training academy! Based on our tagline "Learning to Lead," we believe that leadership is a very important teachable and learnable skill that our students will need to be successful in their lives. That morning student will participate in age-alike small groups with trained facilitators that will work on fun and engaging activities designed to promote leadership in students. It is our belief that leadership takes many forms- not just the captain of a team or the lead role in a drama production- but is exercised in our day to day lives by the choices we make. These exercises will help students develop a sense of leadership for themselves that we think will promote confidence and the desire to "step forward when needed." Please have your student(s) join us that day if at all possible! Registration materials have been sent home from school, but if you missed that, please contact the District Office or your child's school for information. Participants will receive a free t-shirt commemorating the event.
