Introducing THE SMILE SQUAD! Salt Creek District 48 is teaming up again this year with the DuPage Health Department Dental Program to offer FREE dental exams to ALL students. The Smile Squad is coming to Salt Creek Primary on Monday, May 4th! The Smile Squad is a fully equipped dental truck that provides free dental services to students, including a cleaning and sealants for those who qualify. If your child participates, the Smile Squad will provide proof of an exam that meets the Illinois State school requirements. Consent forms were recently sent home with students. If you are interested in your child participating, please fill out and return the consent form to your child’s health office. Reach out to Danyelle Olsen, District nurse with any questions (dolsen@saltcreek48.org.) Consent forms are due by: Wednesday, April 22nd. See attached Flyer for more information.

Last week our Kindergarten classes went to DuPage Children's Museum. They had so much fun exploring and building with their friends.

Today our Kindergarten classes all met in our new STEM and Art lab to work on a science activity. They worked with students from other classes to figure out how they could warm up a frozen playground. 🛝

Salt Creek Primary students learned about Veterans' Day today with a visit from an actual Veteran, creating cards for Veterans, viewing our community Veteran wall, and Veteran-themed projects in art class. See the pictures of our first graders painting poppies!

This week, we wrapped up our story A Bed for Winter and enjoyed a special visit from The Naturalist! She brought in a variety of animals for us to touch, explore, and learn about—it was such a fun and hands-on experience!
