DRESSING FOR THE WEATHER Remember that our students go outside for recess daily if the weather provides. Hats and gloves are mandatory on these cold days. Proper attire is required to play in the snow; children must have boots and snow pants along with the hats and gloves.

DearStella May Swartz Parents/Guardians: Traditionally we do not have Valentine’s Day parties at Swartz but do allow the children to exchange valentines. You may send your student with valentines for the class, which will be passed out during class time. Please do not send any treats or valentines with candy attached to them. Thanks for your cooperation. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thank you parents! We have over exceeded our necessary percentage of parents taking the 5 Essentials Survey. We truly appreciate it. You can still take the survey if you have not yet. We prefer as much feedback as possible.

SC/SMS Parents - We are very close to having enough parent responses to our 5 Essentials Survey for it to show up on our school report card. If you have not done it, please take a minute to fill this out. We truly appreciate it! https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/

TESTING, TESTING MAP testing begins January 14th – 28th. MAPs are a great way to evaluate your student’s current level in math and reading. Tests are taken on the computer and become more difficult as your child answers correctly or remains at the current level if the answer is incorrect. As with all testing we ask that your child be on time, get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast.
