The Albright Girls Volleyball team took the court today in the very first sporting event hosted in our new gym. The girls felt the energy and enthusiasm as both teams reigned victorious!

AMS Parents- Fall Cross Country is cancelled this afternoon, Friday, September 4th due to excessive heat. Students have been notified and should head home afterschool. Please call the school office if you need to make arrangements with your child.
NOTE: Soccer practice will take place indoors and is on as scheduled until 3:45pm.
Soccer tryouts will continue this afternoon, Thursday, September 3rd until 4:30 pm. The late bus (3:45) will be available as needed. Precautions have been made to limit outdoor exposure and there will be indoor drills/activities. If you need to contact your child regarding the tryouts, please contact the school office. Note: Girls volleyball practice will take place as scheduled. Thanks!
Unfortunately we will once again need to cancel Soccer tryouts for this afternoon due to the extreme heat advisory and heat index over 100º. Soccer tryout attendees should go home afterschool. If you need to make arrangements with you child for afterschool, please call the school office. The forecast does call for cooler temperatures tomorrow, in which we will host our 2nd and final day of tryouts. Note: Girls volleyball practice will take place as scheduled.

We are tentatively rescheduling the second day of tryouts for tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 2nd, but we will continue to keep an eye on the weather forecast. Your child's safety is our utmost priority.
Students have been alerted of the cancellation. If you need to contact your child to make arrangements for after school, please call the school office prior to 2pm.

Earlier this week, the Illinois Principals Association hosted its annual Student Recognition Breakfast. Albright Middle School was proud to recognize two outstanding eighth-grade students: Lena and Jacob!
A huge congratulations to our AMS Boys Volleyball teams on an outstanding season!
The 8th grade team capped off their season at 11–1, earning a conference co-championship this year. This extended their streak to 3 consecutive conference titles, a spectacular 3-peat!
Our 7th grade team finished 9–3, tying for 2nd place in the conference and doing this with only two returning players, a remarkable accomplishment!
Even more impressive was the way both teams carried themselves all season long on the court, competing hard while showing respect and sportsmanship to teammates, opponents, and officials.
We are proud of you, Vikings!
