Congratulations to second grader Philly for his artwork being chosen for the Hilton Holiday Card Contest! What an amazing honor! This is the 17th year that we have partnered with Don Hill and the Oakbrook Terrace Hilton. Every year, the hotel chooses one card to use for their holiday card. The card selection committee said this year was especially difficult to chose a winner! All of the artwork submitted was very well done and creative! Congratulations, Philly!

Our staff had so much fun delivering our "Get Your Hands on a Good Book" bags. We hope your child loved it too! Thank you to FTC for providing the funds for the bags. We also want to thank the White family for the adorable Viking sticker. A huge shout out to Mrs. Schellhorn, Mrs. Ross, and Mrs. Gallagher who assembled these bags and created the student keepsake. We hope you and your child(ren) curl up over winter break to enjoy their new book! Don't forget to check out the winter break reading incentive to win a hamburger Happy Meal! Have a safe and wonderful winter break!

Good Morning First Grade Families,
Next week, we will continue our study of computer coding and complete a fun activity for National Computer Science Education Week! To see what it's all about, check out https://hourofcode.com/us/how-to/parents! Have a wonderful weekend!
Happy Friday Kindergarten! Next week in STEM, we will be building our models of the houses we designed to stand up to the Big Bad Wolf! Some ideas for materials you may use are: empty tp/paper towel rolls, cardboard, tape, glue, legos, blocks, magnet tiles, tissue boxes, popsicle sticks, etc. Remember, your house only needs to be about the size of a gingerbread house or smaller and must stay up when you try to blow it down using your own wind, a fan, or a hair dryer. If it is more convenient, you may build your model before class and test it during our class time! Looking forward to next week!
We still have meals available for pick up, even on break! Meal pick up is tomorrow, Tuesday, November 17th from 1:00 to 1:30 pm and from 2:35 to 3:00 pm at the District Office (Door #2) on Villa Avenue. Please wear a mask when you pick up your meals. We are a part of the Summer Food Service Program, so any student can have free combo meals!
Hi First Grade Families,
Next week, students will be starting a Computer Coding Unit, so no materials will be needed, other than their computers! Have a wonderful and relaxing break!
Happy Friday before break Kindergarten Families! When we return, students will be trying to solve the challenge of building a house that will stand up to the "big bad wolf." For Monday, November 30th, students will only need pencil/paper to draw out their ideas after hearing the problem. Have a wonderful and relaxing break!
