What a great resource: Call4Calm, for Illinois residents experiencing stress and mental health issues related to COVID-19. Text “TALK” to 5-5-2-0-2-0, or for Spanish, “HABLAR” to the same number. Call4Calm is free to use, and individuals will remain anonymous. Once a resident sends a text to the hotline, within 24 hours they will receive a call from a counselor employed by a local community mental health center. You can also text 5-5-2-0-2-0, with key words such as “unemployment” or “food” or “shelter” and will receive information on how to access resources. *Mrs. Scholtes

Here are some great suggestions for parents during e-learning days:
- If possible, set up a designated place for students to do their school work. This should be away from electronics and other distractions.
- Students should create their own schedule for the day. (We discussed how students may be helping out more at home during this time, so the schedule should reflect when they are able to successfully work on assignments.)
- Write out the schedule, then you'll be more likely to follow it.
- Start with your favorite class or assignment. This will help motivate students to start their day.
- Don't forget to include break time for a quick energy boost. This should include a snack and some movement.

Today, until 2:15pm, is the last day for pickup of work/items at all schools. For the safety of all, only parents (no children) picking up meals from 10am-12pm should visit moving forward. This is offered M-F for the next 2 weeks. School work will be available outside each school. Please call your school if there is an immediate need.

Our very own Mrs. Bauers was a presenter at the IL ASCD Pre-K and Kindergarten Conference! She shared her expertise on student created rubrics. How lucky are we to have such rockstar teachers in Salt Creek School District 48?
