Today SC Primary came together for our school-wide November gathering. We read a book about being thankful for our friends, joined in a Thanksgiving "Feast" together (our morning snacks), and Mrs. O taught us a Turkey song! Wishing all of our Viking families a Happy Thanksgiving!
Salt Creek earned a prize drop today! Mrs. Ferraro's Kindergarten class made their goal of using classroom tools and our prize drop landed on CHALK DAY! Students took advantage of the warm afternoon to come together on the blacktop and chalk together. Way to go Little Vikings!

Happy Veteran's Day! Salt Creek Primary students celebrated our Veterans today and had 3 guest Vets come to share their experiences in the Navy, Army and Marines. Thank you for your service!
Baking Club was at it again! Chocolate chip cookies were on the menu this week.
Thank you to Ms. Armwood for including all of our 8th graders in her Orchestra field trip to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra! What an amazing experience for our students after the direct learning they had from a music grant we received. 🎼 🎻

With a $20 entrance fee you get $300 worth of chips and prizes will be given at the end of the night to those who have made the most! With a $30 VIP entry, you will additionally get a shot glass and a handmade mock tale. There will also be a silent auction and refreshments. Pokémon Night success! Students traded cards, did crafts, got tattoos and watched Pokémon on the big screen. Big thanks to FTC for sponsoring this event! Extra special thanks to Mrs. Tacadena for coordinating and setting up the event.

Mrs. Ferraro and Mrs. Ottaviano's classes earned a school prize drop for doing an excellent job during our school evacuation drill last week!
Our prize drop landed on Color Day! Tomorrow students should wear their favorite color or multiple colors and will have time set aside tomorrow to do a coloring activity! Way to go little vikings!

7th grade scientist designed and then carried out an experiment to test how different cooling methods affect the formation of crystals. Ask your 6th, 7th, or 8th grade scientist to explain what causes large crystals to form vs small crystals.

Fall Fest is at Albright Middle School on Saturday, October 14, 9:30 AM - 12 PM. Please join FTC for a fun filled fall themed morning! We will have carnival games, crafts, Trunk or Treat and a bake sale! There is a $5 admission for kids, adults are free!

If you plan to bring an item for the bake sale, please individually wrap items and mark them if the item is nut free, gluten, free, etc. Items will be priced at $2, so please plan accordingly when packaging.

Elmhurst Fire Department visited Salt Creek this morning to give a fire safety presentation to our students. Tomorrow they will be back to complete the building fire inspection and supervise an Evacuation Drill.
