Do you have or know a child between the ages of 3-5? Salt Creek School District 48 conducts a free developmental screening of preschool-aged children (ages 2.5 to 5, not yet enrolled in kindergarten). This screening is open to all preschool-aged students who live in District 48 boundaries. Screenings are conducted at Salt Creek Primary School, 980 S. Riverside Dr. in Elmhurst. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the school’s office at 630-832-6122. Screening appointments are available for this Friday January 10, March 13, and May 22. The screening process provides information on your child's development. Assessed areas include: speech and language, gross and fine motor skills, and social/emotional development. It is conducted by professional school staff in a playroom setting and takes about one hour to complete. If you have questions regarding screening for children under 3 years old, please contact Child & Family Connections at 331-481-4263.

The kids had so much holiday fun at Salt Creek today. We enjoyed the "Holidays Around the World" performance, as well as classroom winter parties. Thank you to all involved in planning these special events.

Salt Creek students celebrated Hour of Code. A huge thank you to the STEM teachers and Albright helpers for making this a successful event!

Our Viking families met today to learn about inclusivity. Each Viking is unique, but stronger together.

Congratulations to Albright’s band and orchestra programs this week for putting on amazing concerts. The students have been working extremely hard and it showed. Thank you Ms. Armwood and Mr. Babiarz!

Winterpalooza is now open. We are at AMS until 12pm. The raffles are worth the trip; four bikes, hotel stays, Blackhawk tickets and more. There’s breakfast and games too! We hope to see you soon!!!

Our Student Council just finished shopping for our Adopt-a-Family. Thank you to everyone for collecting and donating!

As a wrap-up to our Inclusive Schools Week celebrations, students reflect on being a part of the Salt Creek School District family. Special thanks to members of the AVTV Club for putting the video together! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-nTaExjJXM&feature=youtu.be
Today, students and staff wore red to celebrate RED Day! RED stands for Respect Each person’s Differences. On this day, we ask all Vikings to take the RED Day Pledge: 'I promise to Respect Each person’s Differences. I will show acceptance and appreciation to everyone so that I can be a part of making our school, our community, and our world a kinder place.'

Please wear red tomorrow in support of Inclusive Schools Week!

Happy birthday to Salt Creek’s November friends!

Our 5th & 6th graders got to experience volunteering at Feed My Starving Children today. They were able to pack enough meals for 99 kids to eat for a year. It was an amazing time and our students truly enjoyed themselves. Thank you volunteers!
